Shenalie Fernando

Shenalie leads cyber strategy and operational resilience at Mjolnir Security, where she has built and expanded much of our advisory practice since 2020. Her work spans virtual CISO services, cyber maturity assessments, governance programmes and third-party risk management.

She oversees incident response readiness for our clients: incident response, business continuity and disaster recovery plans, and the tabletop exercises that test them. She also leads security awareness programmes and supports cyber security integration during mergers and acquisitions, and has acted as a breach coach.

Before Mjolnir, Shenalie was a Managing Consultant and Team Lead at Cognizant Canada, where she directed cyber security integration for an acquisition between two financial institutions. At Deloitte Canada she led large-scale cyber incident and privacy response engagements across continents, coordinating executives, legal, law enforcement and communications teams, and received Deloitte's Risk Advisory Delivery Excellence Award in 2020.

She has spoken at DEF CON, SecTor, the SANS DFIR Summit, BSides Toronto and Calgary, Countermeasures and the Calgary Cyber Summit, on topics from hunting threat actors who use Tor to mapping the Canadian darknet. Shenalie holds the CISSP and a Bachelor of Engineering in Space Engineering from York University's Lassonde School of Engineering.
