Milind Bhargava

Cybersecurity practitioner, entrepreneur and educator. Founded Mjolnir Security in 2017, and has taught digital forensics and incident response at George Brown Polytechnic for 11 years.

Milind Bhargava is a Canadian cybersecurity expert, entrepreneur and educator, and the Founder and CEO of Mjolnir Security, a 100% Canadian-owned firm specializing in intelligence-driven defence, incident response and digital forensics. He brings 18 years of experience in information security, and for 11 of them he has also been teaching the next generation of defenders.

Building Mjolnir Security

Before founding Mjolnir, Milind was a Senior Lead at Deloitte Consulting, specializing in technical security infrastructure. He founded Mjolnir Security in Toronto in 2017 on a simple belief: when an organization is under attack, security should deliver clarity in chaos, not add to it. Every engagement is handled by a senior team, not a tier-one queue, and the hotline is answered by a responder who can start containment on the call.

Under his leadership the firm has handled more than 600 engagements, built MSOC, the autonomous SOC powered by Milind AI, and developed the in-house platforms behind its threat intelligence, so that no vendor roadmap ever blocks an investigation. Separately, he created Milind.AI, an interactive AI security advisor, which is distinct from Milind AI, the model that powers MSOC.

Leading the response

Milind specializes in cyber resilience, incident management, threat risk assessment and technical security management. He has led response and recovery for high-profile data breaches, coordinating the technical, legal and executive work that a crisis demands.

His forensic work includes complex, high-profile examinations of computer systems and network security, and expert testimony in court proceedings. He has defined security strategies for internal and external investigations and enforcement, led the compensating controls that reduce business and technology risk, and speaks regularly at security conferences. He recently completed a Master of Science in Digital Forensic Science at Champlain College.

Media and thought leadership

Milind is a regular commentator on cyber risk for Canadian media, including The Globe and Mail and CBC Radio, and writes in Insights on what new Canadian legislation, including the Critical Cyber Systems Protection Act enacted by Bill C-8, means for the organizations that have to answer to it.

In a February 2025 Globe and Mail feature on data breaches, he explained why so many organizations wait too long to act: "People only change or invest after they've been breached." Read the article.

Educator

For 11 years Milind has been a professor in George Brown Polytechnic's postgraduate cybersecurity program in Toronto. He has taught Ethical Hacking, Cryptography and Security Operations, with a primary focus on digital forensics and incident response.

He mentors students in professional judgment as well as technical skill: how to think critically, act ethically and respond effectively under pressure. Since 2017, Mjolnir Security has partnered with the college's School of Computer Technology to give students hands-on exposure to SOC workflows, malware analysis and incident response.

Giving back

A 2012 graduate of George Brown's Wireless Networking program, Milind funds the Mjolnir Guardian Award, recognizing excellence in defensive security, threat detection and incident response, and the Mjolnir Vanguard Award, recognizing innovation and leadership in cyber security research and practice. In 2026 he made a five-year commitment to sustain both.

The connection runs into hiring too: seven of the nine people in Mjolnir's Toronto office are George Brown alumni. Read George Brown's story.
